About this Site
The idea for this site was prompted by a study undertaken by Sandra Shechory in 2011 at request of the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel (AACI) to learn about the current state of English libraries and collections in Israel. The project was funded by the Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds and coordinated by Josie Arbel, Director of Klitah and Programming at AACI.
Sandra presented her findings to a conference that AACI convened in February 2012. Her report was extensive and filled with information that had probably never been gathered together in one place before. Inspired by her work, I wanted to make sure that her information was disseminated to those who could make good use of it. Therefore, I created this site whose content is based in large part on Sandra's report. I also expanded the categories to cover topics that were not part of her study.
This site is a work in progress. Its value and richness depends on the resources we can all add to it. So, if you know of a place or activity that is germane, please send it to me so we can all benefit.
